Writing and Performing

Chandrika Narayanan-Mohan is a Dublin-based, writer, performer, and cultural consultant from India, who has also lived in North America, Sweden, Turkey, and the UK. Her work has been published in Writing Home: The ‘New Irish’ Poets and Local Wonders from Dedalus Press, the Irish Chair of Poetry’s Hold Open the Door anthology, Queering the Green by Lifeboat Press, Banshee, Honest Ulsterman, and Poetry Ireland Review amongst others. She has been featured on The Moth and Mortified podcasts, with work aired on NPR and RTÉ radio. She also regularly performs at literary and cabaret events in Ireland. Chandrika has been selected for the Irish Writers Centre’s XBorders programme twice, and in 2021 was a Poetry Ireland’s Introductions poet and a Science Gallery Dublin’s Rapid Residency Artist. In 2020 Chandrika won 3rd place in the Fingal Poetry Prize. She was also editor of Poetry Ireland’s Trumpet issue 9, and is a book reviewer for Children’s Books Ireland’s Inis magazine. 

Working in the Arts

After completing high school in Stockholm and Ankara, Chandrika moved to the UK for university. She graduated with a BA in Art History and English Literature from The University of York and an MA in Art History from University College London. Chandrika started working in the arts sector in London, working at Christie’s Auction House, The Victoria and Albert Museum, the Jonathan Cooper Park Walk Gallery and the Be Smart About Art Academy

In 2012, Chandrika moved to Dublin, where she graduated with an MA in Arts Management and Cultural Policy from University College Dublin. As part of the Arts Council's RAISE programme, she also completed a Certificate in Fundraising from Fundraising Ireland. She then worked at Business to Arts, the Irish Architecture Foundation, and The Liquor Rooms. As part of her role as Arts and Culture Manager at the Liquor Rooms, she produced a talk series which was shortlisted for an IDI (Institute of Designers in Ireland) award. She is also co-founder of the Irish Craft Cocktail Awards. Chandrika was Marketing and Development Manager of Fishamble: The New Play Company for four years, and is currently a freelance cultural consultant working with a number of organsitions in the Irish arts sector.  She is also a Board Member of the Irish Writers Centre.
