There are many ways to hire me!

Writing

I am a writer, it's what I do! I have written articles, blog posts, reviews, interviews, and more. I am a regular reviewer for Childrens Books Ireland's Inis Magazine, where I also published an interview with Illustrator Dapo Adeola. I have also been commissioned to create poetry and prose for Poetry Ireland, the Irish Hospice Foundation, and others. You can see more information about what I've written here, on my Writing page.

Creative Consultancy

Strategic Consulting
My strategic consultancy work aims to support the long-term sustainability of arts organisations. My work is informed by over ten years working in business development in the arts, being trained as part of three different arts fundraising programmes, and my years working in arts marketing and sales. Sectors I've worked with include fine art, museums, architecture, theatre, game design, literature, science, design, technology, and more! My clients so far have been Mother Tongues Festival, Cloughjordan Circus Club, and Skein Press, with more to be announced.
Advisory Roles
I am very excited to be part of a number of initiatives in Ireland, advising on strategy, marketing, and underrepresentation within the arts. In 2021 I proudly joined the Irish Writers Centre as a Board Member. I am also on advisory boards for the Stinging Fly, Words Ireland, Baboró, and the Diversity in Irish Poetry (DIP) Ledbury Critics of Colour programme in partnership with Maynooth University, supported by Poetry Ireland.

Public Speaking

Performances and Interviews

I love public speaking and performing my work! I have performed my work and taken part in panels in in festivals like the International Literature Festival Dublin, Cúirt International Festival of Literature, Dublin Book Festival, Red Line Book Festival, Bray Literary Festival, and Fingal Poetry Festival, in addition to a number of literary and cabaret events all over the country. I have also been featured on RTÉ Radio and NPR.

I also am regularly booked for panels and interviews
, speaking on topics such as theatre, literature, fundraising, arts management, and underrepresentation in the arts. In addition to literary festivals, I have also spoken at diversity-focused events with University College Cork, Trinity College Dublin, NUI Galway, and more. I've even done a comedy set about science and colonialism at Bright Club!

You can watch or listen to some of my performances and interviews here.

Curating and Moderating Panels

I am particularly open to opportunities where I can curate and moderate panels. My emphasis will always be creating a platform for underrepresented voices. I also have curated panels, moderated discussions, and interviewed authors at a number of literature festivals.

In 2021 I curated and ran a series of six talks called Arts Lives, as part of the UCD Arts Management and Cultural Policy MA, which invited speakers from the Irish art world to talk about their experiences in the arts.

"Chandrika curated and chaired a five-speaker series for our ArtsLive module–a core component on the MA in Cultural Policy and Arts Management at UCD. Chandrika found new voices that are not the ‘usual suspects’ and deftly calibrated the series to form an insightful look at the reality of working in the creative sector in Ireland today. Her skilful facilitation of the conversations allowed our students to engage in fantastic conversations with our guests. The only question left is–when is she coming back to do it all again?"

Workshops, Talks, and Event Production

I have given talks on a range of subjects, and am building a portfolio of workshops. My first talk, 'Not Just a Pretty Picture: Knowing Your Value in the Workplace' was delivered to FAB and Women in Technology, two women in tech groups. I most recently gave my first Poetry workshop as part of Mother Tongues Festival in 2021, and look forward to running more!

I have experience producing a number of events, such as an event for the International Literature Festival Dublin in 2020, an award-nominated talk series on Irish design that I ran monthly from 2014-2017, and the Irish Craft Cocktail Awards, which I co-founded and produced from 2014-2018.
